On 10-11 March, Don Bosco Animation Centre organized a very novel retreat called "Retreatainment." About 45 youngsters working youth and college students participated in this spiritual programme.

This two day event began on 10th evening with the viewing of a short movie "Tree of Life!" which highlighted on treasuring the gift of life. The youngsters then moved into groups to discuss and reflect on the implications of the issues projected in the video. The session concluded with a reflection on YOUCAT (youth catechism).

Ms Milgen, a lecturer in a junior college had this to say about the event, "Aptly named Retreatainment coz it was a retreat full of fun. ‘Raise Your Voices’ in honour of the Saint of Youth
Singing Competition was yet another activity organized by Don Bosco Animation Centre on 18th February to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of its existence (1987-2012). Twenty five years back the Salesians (Frs. Tomas Fernandes & Fr Egidio Fernandes) set foot in the ancestral home of Mr Julio Furtado who invited the Salesians to work in Benaulim.

The Singing Competition exhibited a high level of musical talent among the young. The groups raised their voices in praise of the ‘Father and Teacher of the young’ through hymns and songs dedicated to this beloved saint of youngsters.  St Pius X High School bagged the first place while St Anthony’s High School, Majorda was declared runners-up, closely followed by Our Lady of Lourdes School, Utorda. In his message to the students, Fr Anisio Mota, the Chief Guest, spoke about the great passion and zeal of Don Bosco for children. He also encouraged the students to develop their talents and use it for the service of humanity.
